Who can benefit from Rolfing?
Rolfing is a movement education and manual therapy suitable for people of all ages, and can be particularly helpful for the following:
The aim of Rolfing® is to re-establish the natural alignment of the human body, so that being upright becomes easier than slouching or collapsing. Effortless good posture brings a feeling of vitality and self-confidence. After Rolfing treatment, clients commonly report feeling lighter, freer, taller and pain-free, along with more ease and efficiency of movement.
Greater ease and grace in movement, pain relief, improved posture, and more comfort in your body are all results than are commonly achieved through Rolfing. You may come to Rolfing because you wish to improve your posture, or you are experiencing pain, rehabilitating after an injury or surgery, or simply because of interest in the work. After Rolfing, people report feeling more relaxed, in their body and their life, more grounded, vital, confident, well, pain-free, expressive, healed and 'in flow'.
The Rolfing 10-series takes you through a course of individually tailored sessions, each one focusing on a particular theme and building on the results of the last. In Rolfing sessions I use body reading, gait analysis, discussion, hands-on manipulation of the connective tissue (fascia), movement and perceptual work. The Rolfing process takes you on a journey of exploration into how your body is organising itself in the field of gravity, bringing you into balance.
