“I
looked forward to every single one of my Rolfing sessions, even though I
learnt to expect them to be challenging! Rolfing challenged me mentally,
physically and emotionally and was huge fun. Each session takes you to a new
place, to a new experience, whilst somehow gathering you together along the
way. I still use the work that we did, constantly. When I slip back into
old patterns (of sitting, standing, etc) my body adjusts itself almost
before my mind realises what’s happening. When that happens, I know
something deep has registered. It helped with physical restrictions and
limitations that I’d put up with for many years and brought changes that no
other therapy has been able to do.”
“What I remember most from the Rolfing
sessions was the intense relief as my muscles eventually relaxed and went
into a more comfortable shape. Rolfing helped me to address physical issues
which were in turn affecting my mental outlook. I learnt how to stand
comfortably and how my stance affects how I see the world and it sees me.”
“Rolfing has given me a
greater holistic awareness of my body, it's like joining the dots. It's a
sudden realisation that the movement you took for granted as normal was
anything but. Rolfing to me is like a gentle (or sometimes not so gentle)
shove that can move us out of our old patterns and into new ones.
Rolfing has transformed my awareness in my Yoga and Tai-Chi practice. To be
honest I think I realise now months after the sessions what an enormous
effect it's had, more than when I was at the sessions themselves.”
"Rolfing completely
changed the way I stand and comport myself. I feel I am much more balanced
now. I hope I have learned to walk better and to use the energy from my
feet to give strength to the rest of my body. Rolfing corrected things in
my posture that I had been aware of not working in my body since I was a
teenager.”
“I liked our Rolfing
sessions a lot and feel it did help me. I remember feeling exposed and
uncomfortable, and also remember your kind understanding on this matter.
I think my whole posture improved afterwards. I learned that Rolfing is not
necessarily painful and that change can happen quickly and relatively
painlessly. It is not like Rolfing used to be in the old days - it is
not that painful.” |
