Travelling to Minehead
If you are travelling on the M5 from the north I recommend that you turn off at junction 23 which avoids the centre of Bridgwater. Junction 24 takes you through Bridgwater, and junction 25 through Taunton and all are about the same distance. If you are travelling on the M5 from the south I recommend you turn off at junction 26, which avoids the centre of Taunton. Follow the A38 signposted to Taunton, parallel to the motorway, until you pick up signs to Minehead and the A358. From London you can travel via M4/M5 or to minimise motorway driving go M3/A303 (lovely view of Stone Henge along the way). By public transport you will need to take a train or a coach to Taunton. From there you can take a bus, either from the bus station or the train station, which will take you to Minehead. Generally these take 70mins and leave every hour, though they do run additional more direct services from the train station over the summer period. National Express run buses to Taunton from many locations. More limited services but highly recommended are Berry's Coaches who run a 'Superfast' service from Hammersmith bus station. Staying in Minehead There is plenty of over-night accommodation available in Minehead. For details of Bed and Breakfast accommodation in Minehead and the surrounding area see www.stayinminehead.co.uk
